NFL Betting – Colts Will Be Without Manning For Some Time

Just when it seemed as though the Indianapolis Colts would be okay, owner Jim Irsay left his fans with a tweet that has rocked the entire NFL betting lines nation. Irsay tweeted on Thursday that “NFL season opens 2nite! We had a good practice yesterday and r guys r fired up 4 the season. # 18’s out for a while, but compete, we will/BELIEVE”, signaling that it appears as though the team’s franchise quarterback could be moving to the IR very soon. Head coach Jim Caldwell came out and said on Thursday that the league’s four-time MVP has complete the doctor’s tests and team officials are trying to figure out how the best way to proceed is.

The Colts will now turn to veteran Kerry Collins, who comes over from the Tennessee Titans looking to keep the offense going even though it will be his first time in this system. It is pretty obvious that he will have the weapons around him to succeed, and Indianapolis will likely try to simplify their offense for the first few weeks as the team looks to get things together. The Colts open their sports betting season against the Houston Texans this Sunday, and the fact that the first time they go fishing without their franchise player is against their division rival can’t be a good thing, especially not on the road. Fantasy owners will continue to keep their eye on Manning, but this may be the biggest blow to any team both in terms of fantasy and in the NFL this season.
