NHL Betting – Look For Crosby To Retake His Throne When He Returns In 2011-12

Whether it has been the Sedin brothers that have scored at a ridiculous rate over the past couple of years, or the tandem of Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos with the Tampa Bay Lightning, there have been some incredible offensive performances among fantasy players over the years that have really caught the attention of fantasy owners. Heading into the 2011-12 NHL season there will be a familiar name back at the top of the list however, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him joined by his teammate from the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sidney Crosby missed half of the season a year ago with concussion related problems, but with those issues now in the past it is time for him to make his return and retake his place at the top of the league in terms of fantasy value.

Forget that he can win faceoffs, play in all situations, and make his teammates better, the bottom line is that Crosby can put up points. There was no player in the NHL that had a better points per game than the 1.61 mark that the 23-year old put up, and with so much time still in front of him for him to develop into a more aware player, the sky is the limit for what Crosby can do. Pittsburgh will also benefit from the return of Evgeni Malkin, who also missed half of the season last sports betting year with an injured leg. Malkin had 15 goals and averaged nearly a point per game before going down, and it wouldn’t be a surpise to se him bounce back stronger than ever.
